The Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso Foundation (BGC Foundation) together with the Board of Directors of the Paso del Norte Foundation are proud to announce a partnership to grow the assets of the B&GC El Paso Foundation.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso was founded in 1929 to provide young people with a fun, safe and constructive environment when they are not at home or school. The Clubs offer programs and services designed to improve academic achievement, build character, and strengthen life skills with the goal of ensuring that every young person who comes to Clubs graduated from high school with a plan for their future.
The BGC Foundation was established nearly 20 years ago for the exclusive benefit of the Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso. The BGC Foundation has made over $400,000 in grants to support the Clubs over this time, and is currently valued at $630,000. The Foundation seeks to double its assets in order to support the growth and sustainability of the Clubs that are so vital to the community.
“The Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso Foundation is pleased to partner with the Paso del Norte Foundation in order to increase the resources we provide to the Clubs in El Paso,” announced Luis Talavera, President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of El Paso Foundation Board of Directors.
“The Paso del Norte Foundation will provide important administrative and investment support to the BGC Foundation so that it can do even more to serve the Clubs in El Paso,” said Allan M. Goldfarb, Immediate Paso Chairman of the Paso del Norte Foundation Board of Directors.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of El Paso recently celebrated its 85th anniversary serving youth in the El Paso community. The Clubs currently operate in four key locations: Club Travis H. Petty in South El Paso, Club Delta in Central El Paso, Club Janacek in Far East El Paso (Montana Vista) and a fourth club being piloted at Canutillo Elementary School in Far West El Paso. The Clubs serve over 1,200 youth through innovative after school and summer programs. Their mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible adults.
